The Compliment Dept.

The Compliment Dept. began as an experiment in connection—offering bespoke compliments to people I know well, people I barely know, and, most often, to strangers who text a request prompted by a Compliment Dept. tent card they happen upon. I’m drawn to the challenge of crafting something genuine from whatever information arrives. The project reveals how a simple compliment can shift a day, a mood, or a sense of belonging—and how the context of the invitation shapes the exchange.
